Phuket Zoo As the only one Zoo in Phuket island, Phuket Zoo, a park with Thai features,houses various animals especially species from Asia and Africa. There are more than 600 species of birds, 100 species of reptiles and amphibians, and 45 species of mammals in this zoo. Opened in 1997 and covering an impressive 12 acres, Phuket Zoo is home to a wide array of attractions, from peaceful paths through natural surroundings to exciting animal shows.
Animal Shows The zoo is famous for its daily animal shows which feature performances by elephants, crocodiles, birds and monkeys. The zoo also features a “nocturnal house” containing hard-to-find creatures of the night, an aquarium, an orchid garden, and a butterfly garden. Monkey Shows
This show is fulled of fun and most popular and favourited with the children. Previously these monkeys worked as coconut pickers, which they can do very quickly by biting through the stem that holds the nut to the tree with their extremely sharp teeth.The show displays you the excellent skills of both the monkeys and their trainers. The performance of adding and subtracting is really amazing and never fails to delight the children in the audience. Different monkeys do different tricks, including diving for coins! Crocodile Shows
Crocodiles cannot really be tamed and basically remain wild dangerous animals that can eat people.This show is thrilling, nerve wracking and exciting. Watch the handler catch and hold a crocodile longer than he is! The head in the mouth trick is rather worrying as you just don't know if today is going to be the trainer's last performance! An exiting display of bravado. Not suitable for people of a nervous disposition.
 Elephant Shows
Elephants also hoppingly demonstrate their skills for their enthusiastic audiences,balancing acts, football games playing, disco dancing and racing which are just some of the featured performances.
  Aquarium
The entrance of Aquarium is a giant crocodile’s mouth. You have to walk down the crocodile’s throat to get in. Inside are huge tanks of thirty thousand liters line both sides and show a variety of both fresh- and saltwater species from around the world. The tanks have been decorated to resemble the fish's natural habitat. One tank looks just like a coral reef. The small damselfishes swimming amongst the coral branches really look at home.
