He may be keeping his training and preparation behind closed doors, but Usain Bolt has shown the world he is embracing the colourful vibe of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games

The fastest man on the planet tweeted a photo of himself striking his famous, celebratory pose with his arm extended skyward like the lightning bolt he is

His feet are typically post-race bare, but the Jamaican’s silhouette is the swirl of sunny colours that make up the Rio 2016 Look of the Games

The countdown is on for Bolt, who competes in the men's 100m event on 14 August, the 200m event on 18 August and the men's 4x100 relay on 19 August, all at Olympic Stadium

Get your tickets for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Since arriving in Rio on 27 July, Bolt moved into a modest hotel near the airport and has no plans to meet with the media until 8 August, when he will take part in an event with the Jamaica delegation

Some details of his daily life have trickled out, such as his preference to eat cereal with milk in the evening, but otherwise little is known about the day-to-day carioca experience of the dual 100m and 200m world record holder

He trains at the track alongside team-mates and coaches

And the Jamaican team has provided home cooking to fuel the athletes

With an image of shattered chains, Bolt also recognised Emancipation Day, which commemorates the end of slavery in the British Empire and British West Indies, including Jamaica

The country’s independence day on 6 August is further reason for celebration

Perhaps Bolt will give us another glimpse into his life at Rio 2016
