Tickets to the three gymnastics disciplines – artistic, rhythmic and trampoline – at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games have been among the most sought after and hardest to come by

But fans of the sport have another chance to see their idols during the Games in Rio next year

Tickets to the gymnastics gala – sometimes known as the champions’ gala – go on sale at 10am (Brasília time) on Tuesday (17 November)

Residents of Brazil can buy tickets on the Rio 2016 tickets portal, while overseas fans should get in contact with the authorised ticket reseller (ATR) for their territory

Rio will be the fifth time the Olympic gala has been staged

It was not held in London in 2012, for logistical reasons

At the Beijing 2008 Games, the gala brought together esteemed gymnasts with local pop stars

The names of those who will be involved in the Rio show have not been divulged, but the recipe will be the same: amazing gymnastics, entertainment and a touch of glamour

The performances will include artistic, rhythmic and trampoline gymnastics, as well as acrobatic and aerobic gymnastics and tumbling

In some routines, different disciplines will be mixed together

The Rio 2016 gymnastics gala will have two sessions on 17 August at Rio Olympic Arena in Barra Olympic Park, one at 11am, one at 3pm, both lasting 90 minutes

Prices range from R$290 to R$900
