Take a break from the saddle on a van ride to the small town of Olvera. On arrivial, cycle along the renowned Via Verde de la Sierra, a series of trails that were once destined to be railway tracks before the intervention of the Spanish Civil War. These mostly flat, traffic-free ‘green ways' have been recovered and reconditioned for use by walkers and cyclists. This mostly downhill 40 kilometre route goes through some of Andalucía’s most beautiful and untouched countryside. Stop for a lunch (not included) in the small village of Puerto Serrano. There is the option of either getting back into the support van or cycling onwards (and upwards!) approximately 27 kilometres to the spectacular white village of Zahara de la Sierra. Spend the rest of today relaxing and enjoying the ambiance of this peaceful hamlet before continuing on approximately 20kms to our home for the evening, the small village of Grazalema. Ride along the flat shores of the sparkling Zahara-el Gastor reservoir before turning uphill to enjoy the spectacular views of the Andalusian hills. This 40 kilometre ride ends in Ronda, a city dramatically set alongside the sheer cliffs of the El Tajo Gorge. There is no escaping the hills today, which is why there will be a support vehicle for use if the trail becomes too challenging. After arriving in Ronda, the rest of the day is free to explore. Perhaps visit the Plaza de Toros, one of the oldest bullfighting rings in the country, and its adjoining Bullfighting Museum. Alternatively, follow the Reservatauro Trail through oak meadows, where fighting bulls and thoroughbred horses are raised. Cycling distance: approx. 40 kms

Start the day easy with a 50 kilometre transfer to the ancient Moorish village of Ardales, which stands out from the surrounding green hills with its whitewashed walls and terracotta roofs. Ardales is also the entry point to the Andalusian Lake District. Cycle besides the beautiful turquoise waters to the ever-popular El Chorro. This 300‐metre‐deep gorge is popular with rock climbers and home to the perilous El Camino del Rey (The King's Pathway), a pathway built into the face of a sheer cliff. It's no doubt an amazing view, but not one we’ll be climbing! Leave the lakes behind and begin the gradual climb to Antequera. On arrival, take part in a orientation walk through the city's old town and visit the impressive Moorish fortress, the Alcazaba, which dominates the city skyline Cycling distance: approx. 45 kms

Today, loop south from Antequera to the impressive Torcal de Antequera, a nature reserve in the Sierra del Torcal mountain range. The area is known for its unusual ‘stacked pancake’ limestone rock formations, and it’s hard to believe this was once part of the ocean floor. Cycle through the reserve before enjoying a picnic lunch. After lunch, swap pedals for hiking shoes and go on a trek. Later, enjoy a 15 kilometre downhill bike ride to Antequera, just in time to take in a glorious Andalusian sunset. Cycling distance: approx. 30 kms

Arrive in Iznájar, a striking town perched dramatically at the top of a massive stone outcropping. Perhaps join the locals for a quick swim at Valdearenas Beach before checking in to your hotel for the night. Later, head out on a short orientation walk around this charming town, taking in the Barrio del Coso, a warren of narrow lanes lined with whitewashed houses, and the 1,200-year-old Iznájar castle.
